The Swiss Made AI label.

Swiss Made AI recognises Swiss companies that can document their development, security, data sovereignty and human oversight practices.

What the label assesses

The scope of the label.

The label assesses how a company organises its AI use. It covers processes, responsibilities, providers, data protection and the ability to explain how AI is used.

Origin and management

Development, technical decisions and key responsibilities are based in Switzerland.

Tools and providers

AI services in use are inventoried, assessed and governed by contracts.

Data protection

Sensitive data is identified, limited and protected under documented rules.

Operational accountability

Internal roles are defined for approval, oversight, incidents, training and auditing.

Levels

Recognition levels.

Essential

For organisations that have established the basics: an AI tool inventory, usage rules and internal responsibilities.

Advanced

For companies documenting their data flows, assessing providers and tracking AI risks.

Certified

For companies with a comprehensive system of governance, controls and continuous improvement.

Assessment limitations.

Swiss Made AI does not guarantee that an AI system is infallible, unbiased or compliant in every regulatory situation. The label confirms that a company follows a sound, documented framework approved by the committee.

Validity

Annual recognition.

The label is awarded for one year. Renewal checks that practices evolve with tools, providers, use cases and market expectations.
